Puerto de la Cruz is a place with its own personality. Not the traditional town emerges harnessing the tourism boom. Our city has a history that dates back to the early sixteenth century and is the port activity that connects us to the European metropolis and Young America. It is for this reason that Puerto de la Cruz has had an international presence since more than 200 years ago thanks to the business of export and import employing the spring of this town as a point of departure and arrival.

Its tourist potential is born in the nineteenth century by European travelers who flock to this earth attracted by its excellent climate and the open character of its inhabitants. It was a time where the word "tourism" had not yet been invented but, you know, words are always after the events defined.

Puerto de la Cruz, as the first tourist town in the Canaries, is hatching at the beginning of the second half of the twentieth century and has since become one of the most attractive destinations internationally.

The merits of the past and the foundations for the future are what are making this special city deserves a significant place in the world that we want to share with you today.
